  • Step 2: Click on the field with the Settings symbol. Choose the “Control Panel” and browse the “Administrative Tools”.

  • Step 4: Then search your previously programmed domain name in the left corner of the panel (For example, my-workplace.com)

  • Step 5: Afterward, look at the “Tasks” pane; there is a “New” button. Right-click it and scroll down the list of functions before double-clicking the “Organizational Unit”. 
  • Step 6: Create a name for your OU. You can also type your desired name in the “Description” box and input other credentials, namely address, city, country, company, phone number, etc. Now you have done!

How To Move Your New AD User To An Organizational Unit

If you want to redirect a whole new AD user to a particular OU, then activate your Window PowerShell and use the following command: 

redirusr “OU=<name>,DC=<your domain>,DC=<your top-level domain>”

Suppose you desire to create “Banking Users” in the organizational unit “my-workplace.com”. You can follow this formula:

redirusr “OU=Banking Users,DC=my-workplace,DC=com”

You can also check your OU name:

  • Step 1: Go to the “View” button and choose the “Advanced Features” field.
  • Step 2: Opt for your organizational unit before searching the folder menu and double-clicking the “Properties”.
  • Step 3: The “Attributor Tab” will be navigated on the screen. Search the “DistinguishedName” and finish.
