So what is the right thing to do? The Trustguide Team will help you answer this question through the article below. Scroll down and get the answer.
Why Move Contacts From Exchange To iCloud?
Microsoft Exchange Server is a virtual email server that allows businesses to send and receive mail and manage Calendars and Contacts. All mobile devices, tablets, desktops, and web-based systems can access the messaging platform.
The Exchange Server is like a “headquarters” that can connect to email clients and other Internet mail servers via Outlook or Exchange Online. Therefore, it is a critical system in many enterprises.
Employees use it to track how to contact partners in the account. When you change your workplace, you won’t be able to continue using your old company’s system. However, this also means that your contacts in this account will also be gone.
That’s why you need to move it to iCloud first.
How Can I Do?
Based On The iOS Feature
This method is quite simple and convenient for those who do it with an iOS device. The built-in Contacts app on this operating system can sync lists with iCloud from other applications. To proceed with the migration, you can do the following:
Step 1: Go to Settings, then select Contacts on iPhone.
Step 2: Click on the Accounts item and select Add Account to add a new Exchange account to this application.
Step 3. Here, the Contacts app will ask you which folder you want to sync.
Step 4. Now go to your iCloud settings and check it. If not done, turn Exchange back on so the iOS system can work again.
Using Outlook App
This is a fairly common method for Windows & Mac users. However, it can be a bit difficult for new users. See detailed steps here:
Step 1: Log in to your Exchange account on the Outlook application.
Step 2: Synchronize Exchange with Outlook.
Step 3: Select the Contacts icon on the menu bar and select the content you want to move. Next, click on the Manage tile in the upper right corner and select the Export Contacts option.
Step 4: The system will send you a confirmation message, select Export. Your data has been exported, but it doesn’t come to iOS immediately; it’s in a CSV file.
Step 5. Convert CSV file to vCard file using Google account:
Sign in to your Google account, then select the Import item in the range of options on the left.
Step 6: Click on the Select file box in the new window. Pick the CSV file we just got in the previous step, and then choose Import.
Note: This will merge your Google contacts and your Exchange contacts, so to avoid clutter, it’s a good idea to create a pre-recorded account.
Step 7. Select the data of the objects you want to transfer to iCloud. Click Export from the menu bar on the left.
Step 8. Tick the option: vCard then select Export.
Step 9. Sign in to your iCloud and move to Settings (gear icon in the lower left corner). Pick Import vCard and choose the VCF file we just exported from Google.
Step 10: The conversion process will take some time; please wait a moment.
3rd Party Apps
In addition to the above two ways, you can use a third-party application. There are quite a few applications that can help you; the most widely used is ContactsMate. You can do the following:

Step1. Download and install ContactsMate.
Step2. At the application launch confirmation window, click OK.
Step3. Choose Add account in the left corner of the main window.
Step4. At the Internet Accounts window, click on the logo of Exchange and log in.
Step5. When you see “Updated contacts detected”, click the circular arrow next to it. You have now synced iCloud and Exchange.
Step 6. Choose all/each contact you want and drag them into the iCloud group.
That’s it; you can go to iCloud to check. With the same method, you can also transfer data from Gmail to iCloud; just change to the Google logo in step 4.
